Some mouthwashes and breath fresheners contain alcohol, which can trigger an interlock device.
Read the label and check for the presence of alcohol in any products that you use. As a general rule, it is recommended to wait at least 15 minutes after using mouthwash before attempting to use an interlock device. This allows enough time for the alcohol to dissipate and for the mouth to clear before providing a breath sample.
If you are unsure about the alcohol content of a particular product, it’s best to avoid using it altogether.
